As you travel north from Ka'anapali along highway 30, you come to the coastal communities of Honokowai and Kahana.

Affordable, ocean front and ocean view accommodations are found in this area.

Most of the condominiums are individually owned, Maui vacation rentals. These vacation rentals are a good choice for Maui Wedding couples on a budget. Nearly all of them feature full kitchens or kitchenettes with refrigerators that you may stock full of your favorite goodies from one of five West Maui grocery stores. These rental units also are great for couples, that would simply like to afford an extended length of stay, for their Maui honeymoon.

Many Kahana ocean front units feature spectacular views. These views are directed across the center of the Kalohi Channel, with the Pailolo Channel and Molokai Island, (the friendly isle), on your right and the Au Au Channel and Lanai Island, (the former pineapple island), on your left.

These waters are a favorite honeymooning area for the Hawaiian Humpback Whale. You may see them playfully jumping and spouting from November through May. We highly recommend obtaining a direct, or nearly direct ocean front unit, as the ocean view and sound of the ocean, add to the romance of this very special Maui vacation that you are planning.

The centralized location of Kahana, about half way between Ka'anapali and Kapalua is also a plus. About a ten minute drive north or south, takes you to the beaches and restaurants at either of these two, West Maui resort areas.

There are many condos to choose from in Honokowai and Kahana. Each complex has a varying degree of quality, maintenance standards and amenities. Some of them allow weddings and some do not.
