A short drive from anywhere in
West Maui, you will find tiny, historic, Lahaina
town. Building height and architectural design
restrictions, keep Lahaina charming. It's rich
history extends back to the Hawaiian Kingdom era,
through the whaling period and to the present.
Lahaina was once the capital of
the Kingdom of Hawaii. Walking tours of Lahaina
are available, for those interested in the history
of this unique little town.
Strolling down Lahaina's Front
Street on a balmy Maui evening, dipping into the
numerous art galleries and stopping at an over the
ocean restaurant for a bite to eat, is truly a
romantic experience for Happy Maui newlyweds.
If you ask us, we will recommend
to you some of our favorite West Maui eateries
from, "hole in the wall" and Hawaiian
plate lunch wagons, to exquisite fine dining by
the sea.
You may also be surprised to see
one of the world's few remaining, fully restored,
narrow gauge, trains chugging along between
Ka'anapali and Lahaina.
This nostalgic train contributes
to the unique nature and feeling of West Maui.
Jeff has even performed
weddings, aboard this happy little train.
